Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
