Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
