Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's success, the skilled cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by critics.
