Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield

An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.

"The jet landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.

This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has encountered equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after suffering a mechanical fault.
