President Trump Welcomes Loved Ones of Attacked Military Members to White House
Former President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.
He added that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.
Details on the Devastating Event
Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.
Presidential Offer
The president explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”
Public Support
Attendees assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.
Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist public safety in DC.
Remembering Beckstrom
“She was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the media. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”
Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.
Legal Actions and Government Changes
Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.
The incident prompted the government to pause asylum processing and halt providing visas to owners of travel documents.
Condition of Wolfe
The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Morrisey stated on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she aimed to meet with the family.
Memory of Sarah Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with honor, according to the state guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” he told the audience at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
