Worrying Figures of Individuals Now Use E-Cigarettes, States Global Health Organization

"Numerous of people are ceasing, or refraining from tobacco usage due to tobacco control measures by states around the world," the official stated.
"In response to this significant progress, the tobacco sector is pushing back with novel nicotine products, forcefully aiming at young people. Governments must act faster and more vigorously in applying tested tobacco-control regulations," he added.
The e-cigarette statistics are an estimate since several states - 109 in total, and numerous in African and Southeast Asia - fail to collect statistics.
Per the study, as of February this year, at minimum 86 million e-cigarette consumers were grown-ups, mostly in high-income countries.
And at least 15 million youth aged 13 and 15 already use e-cigarettes, per research from 123 nations.
While numerous nations have tried to introduce e-cigarette rules to tackle child vaping in recent years, by the close of 2024, 62 nations still had no policy in operation, and 74 nations had no age limit at which e-cigarettes are allowed to be bought, says the medical body.
Meanwhile, tobacco consumption has been dropping - from an projected 1.38 billion users in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024.
Occurrence of tobacco consumption among women decreased the most - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.
With men, the drop was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.
But 20% of grown-ups internationally still consumes tobacco.
